About What a flight!

The problem

When a flight is delayed by three hours, cancelled at short notice, or overbooked, EU law says the airline owes each passenger €250, €400 or €600. Most passengers never claim — they don't know the rules, don't know the amount, and don't want to fight an airline. The ones who do claim often hand 25–35% to an agency that fills in a form and sends a template letter.

What What a flight! does

• Checks your flight against the EU261 thresholds and distance bands — the assessment an agency would charge for.
• Explains in plain language why you do or do not qualify, and which rules it relied on.
• Drafts a formal claim letter citing the right provisions, the per-passenger amount, and a 14-day deadline.
• Tracks your claim in a free dashboard and stores the airline's reply when it comes.
• Reads the airline's response, explains what it means, and drafts a follow-up if you need to push back.

Why it's free

You do the sending. The expensive part of a claim agency — negotiating with airlines, chasing payments, going to court — is work you only need if the airline refuses. For most claims, the assessment and the letter are enough, and those cost nothing to produce. If a future paid service is added, it will be optional and clearly stated, and it will never take a share of your payout.

We do not file claims, chase airlines, receive compensation on your behalf, or take a percentage. We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice. Your claim stays yours, and so does all of the money.
